This is worse than previously thought. I had initially understood it to be PAs using doctors' logins via unattended computers, but it turns out they had IT login privileges exceeding their legal responsibilities, and prescribed using them, despite being told they shouldn't do so.

This is not an accurate claim by Department of Health and Social Care. The target was to have more than 99,000 core beds open by Dec. The data shows 100,894 beds - BUT these include 2,771 escalation beds which are not permanent. Core beds available were just 98,123 in Dec- 877 below the target.
