Hi & colleagues, I'm helping a student who's writing about photographs of the New York ballroom scene in the late 80s/early 90s. Does anyone know of writing on photos of ballroom culture? Refs for ballroom culture generally also welcome! Thank you.

the point of Gerald Horne's entire oeuvre is that bourgeois democracy is weakest in settler colonial societies, that the birth of the U.S. is fascism's prehistory. If you agree, then the fash debate now is backwards in looking for Euro signifiers of something that's from here.

A friend moved to Britain in April 1962 from British Guiana on a CUKC passport. In May 1962 he was handed this newsletter, the psychological impact of which was long lasting. He stayed in the UK but couldn’t bring himself to register as British post BG’s independence.
