My dad was out that night - my mum said the NF were harassing women and took me home during the day (I was a baby). The NF were cowards in that pub, the police useless. NF didn’t come back. I feel #Defiant when I see the Tavern 👊🏾

Seeing South Asians fight such overt horrific racism in 70s/80s, is something I felt in my bones.

I hope that channel 4s #Defiance series changes perceptions for those who never felt compelled to see how deep rooted that fear was.
Even living with my husband, my friend taking part in this series & hearing their stories im still not surprised how little we've moved forward

Heartbreaking from Zubia Darr about the death of her friends in a house fire - new testimony in #Defiance suggests it was part of a wave of largely unreported arson attacks aimed at Asians @channel4

#Defiance - Episode 3 - listening to Zubia Darr recollect the arson of Parveen Khan & her 3 children in #Walthamstow is just heartbreaking. Seeing the report petrol squirted through letter box and ignited is chilling. The children died in their bed and Parveen at the window 💔

Hope people tuned into #Defiance these last 3 nights & learnt a valuable lesson about our history. There weren’t many light moments in the series but this bit from Pritpal made me laugh. It sounds as like a Goodness Gracious Me sketch but it was all so real!

Rajesh Thind So inspired by this magnificent series. Memories stirred when watching the #Bradford12 segments. I had friends on trial for uprisings in Brixton & went on a coach to the big picket in Leeds. Also went to a celebration of the acquittal, organised by S London supporters. #Defiance
