Who knew that if a principal/teacher loses a spouse they get compassionate leave as is right &proper. A woman who runs a preschool for many yrs loses her spouse, takes a week off and Pobal tell her she’ll be paid for 3 days & must make up the other 2! Not all teachers are equal!

Clever Cloggs This is absolutely sickening, to be honest. Every civil servant in Pobal/DCEDIY who dealt with this is entitled to 20 days Bereavement leave if THEIR spouse dies. But Early Years Providers? Treated with utter lack of human respect, yet again 😡 circulars.gov.ie/pdf/circular/p…

Why not let degree led preschools provide July provision, Aim children attending our service all yr now eligible but parents can't find private tutors & our services locked up for Summer makes no sense, we are inspected by dept too Mark Wall TD Kathleen Funchion SF

ECCE Preschool Exactly. Foreign Investment funds have went into both sectors because of the way govt setup tax schemes but small Irish sole traders get screwed. Govt then brag about the billions invested but expect providers to scrape by.

ECCE Preschool Eimer McAuley Absolutely, while I don't want to see anyone homeless, it is galling that people have been rackrented or homeless for years with nothing approaching this kind of effort.

Where would you even go with that figure. Not sure how I’d explain it to revenue - it’s such an increase they might question what we are doing. Or maybe not - maybe they will just keep threatening the Sheriff for their PAYE/tax contributions 🤔

Jupiter Grant KPSS 💜🤍💚 🦖 This is probably the best analogy I've read of the current 'trend'. Absolutely nails the trials, tribulations, highs, lows, fun and exploration of the transformative years of every teenager the world over. Regardless of race, gender and class. Bravo 👏🏻 from a fellow 80's kid.

ds @MaryMag86999606 Mary Moloney @BigStartIreland The DCEDIY and it’s funding of childcare is an absolute farce. Box ticking jobsworths creating ever changing complex schemes that serve only to keep themselves in jobs and offer no benefit to providers, parents or children. We are suffocating in admin and starved of funds. Clowns

The Federation of Early Childhood Providers are putting Feet on the Streets of Dublin on the 27th June. Protest outside Leinster House. Fee freezes are crippling services. Ecce services trapped and being dictated and stuck in fee freeze since 2010. So many services closing permanently. #feetonthestreets

The Federation of Early Childhood Providers are holding a protest outside Leinster House 27th June at 11.30. We need to take a firm stand. We see so many services closing down. The department will say due to retirement but we know for many it is lack of funding.#feetonthestreets Peadar Tóibín TD

This week, I observed the former classmates from my Masters’ degree finishing the course. There is something painfully sad that I wasn’t there to join them. All because I dared to speak out against medicalising children and undermining women. I won’t stop fighting for justice.

Rose Fleming Our neutrality doesn’t prevent us from defending our seas, our airspace or our citizens. The government has not resourced any of the arms of our defence forces. Our neutrality didn’t prevent us from going to Sudan, that failure also rests with our government.

We need to unite and shout loud that 0.03c increase is just not enough. What is the rationale behind this figure 🤷‍♀️

sharononeill (@sharononeill3) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Ending the yr with pneumonia which is pretty apt for yr we put in an ECEC sector hanging on the backs of providers who can't afford to close or continue is no way for @dcediy to run schemes, childcare services are being left very exposed thus no security parents, staff & children
