💯 % agree - the extra thought required for design, planning, leadership and practitioner support / supervision is more than worth it if it means we can bring our whole self and skills in to our work. Everyone flourishes and we invert the service / us and them dynamic.

If we're serious about person-centred care then we need to recognise that being closer to someone’s real life situation & connecting on a human level, is more likely to stir up feelings & uncertainties. This needs a meaningful & containing infrastructure for support & reflection.

Been involved in lots of chats recently about prevention in public services. Big question is 'what are we trying to prevent?' Financial costs to the system or avoidable human suffering? The aim & focus really matters for this as it massively shapes the plan.
