Totally understandable and timely call by BBC to downgrade Newsnight at the moment, especially on the type of geopolitical expertise someone like Mark Ubran has... after all there's very little global news or conflict happening these days.

Wild Card - Whose Shoes? Angela Catley ✨ Donna Hall ✨ Sian Lockwood #socialcarefuture Mary Salama Farzana Hussain Imposter syndrome is ‘de rigueur’ for my Wild Card - Whose Shoes? podcast series.

But this is taking it to a new level! 😂

So what do YOU think of this ‘gobby nonsense recorded for posterity’ 😳

I think it’s brilliant because it is REAL:

👏🏼👏🏼 Angela Catley !!

“Beyond the strategic harms, I fear the human harms of seeing narratives like this shared may be more profound.

Imagine anyone, anticipating or just having had a diagnosis of dementia seeing one of these ads. What do you imagine they – of the people who love them – will feel.”

tricianicoll Bev Taylor Angela Catley #socialcarefuture Yes but unconscious - as Angela Catley sys there's a tipping point. I'm old but not like them. They're really old. We mst look after them but not expect purpose and love. And the dreadful thing is its internalised. 'When I'm really old of course I shld move into n a care home'

Relentless financial squeezing of local authorities and, in some cases, poor financial management, means cuts in services and inflation busting increases in council tax. But don't blame old people for rising demand. Longer life is a blessing not a burden.

Lovely to spend time with tricianicoll Sian Lockwood this afternoon. Recording a splendid little podcast. Talking Gloriously Ordinary Lives and the care and support we want when we get old 😀

Angela Catley #socialcarefuture tricianicoll Strange isn't it? Looking back the day service mum went to (for a very short time) was set up like a toddler group. Lots of chair-based exercises, music and crafting. Nice people but no sense that the people attending had a rich life history, knowledge, interests, relationships

I expose how the “erased disabled kids” scandal was not a one-off - and what it says about us. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

After a very very torrid (bus bus walk hope) trip home from Hemel Hemstead today - really excellent, helpful, empathetic customer service from the GTR guy in the booth at stevenage train station. Thank you

My final thread: 1
Sad how the Alzheimer's Society ad has led to brexit-like polarisation, ppl firing from the sidelines fuelled by their own agenda; we see deliberately antagonistic jibes & others hiding behind emojis of anonymous accounts; others sticking the boot in...
