On Weds, at Centre for Disability Studies, I was at a fab Queer Disability Studies Network panel featuring Trans, Queer and Crip research, challenging transphobia in academia. Uplifting. 48 hours later, we learned that Sheffield SU's fantastic LGBTQ+ committee (Sheffield SU LGBTQ+) had been effectively shut down. Sigh.

At night of trying new things! We took the Glider into town and went to The Avenue Cinema cinema for a very lush viewing experience. And the ultimate win was the Changing Places UK close to the cinema 🙌🏻

Excellent use of flow charts to illustrate the way disabled people are often expected to do 10x the labor and spend 10x time to do things as simple as taking a train.

Deinstitutionalization was a two part policy: close expensive hospitals where people became institutionalized....AND redirect those resources to building up state of the art community based options including crisis services. Canada did one...and has yet to do the second.
