Key Highlights from the just concluded One Health #AntimicrobialStewardship Training of Environmental, Animal and Human Health Practitioners from Nakaseke and Butambala Districts in Central Uganda.

Over 130 practitioners participated in the 2-day training workshops. Sessions involved presentations, brainstorming, group discussions, experiments to illustrate #AntimicrobialResistance and #InfectionPrevention & #Control as well as awarding of certificates.
Closing ceremonies involved speeches from Makerere School of Public Health's David Musoke, Commonwealth Pharmacists Association's Winnie Nambatya and Officials from the District Health Offices, District Veterinary Offices & Hospital Superintendents of the respective districts and awarding of certificates to participants.
Aarash Ahmadi an Antimicrobial Pharmacist from Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust leading the participants through the Baloon experiment to illustrate further how microbes that were being killed by a certain antimicrobial develop resistance overtime as indicated by the tape & pin.
