bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0… Rowena Champion Caroline Russell Islington Labour 🌹 #OnYourSide please listen from 21 minutes. Traffic on London minor roads increased between 2009 and 2019 by 0% not 72%.Residents access through LTNs now please! If not why not?
Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation @audreydenazelle Imperial College London @sustainable_urb Danny Yee Cyclox Oxfordshire Liveable Streets Coalition for Healthy Streets and Active Travel @Urban_Turbo Unfortunately the second slide shown here is wrong. I've fixed it here. It is wrong in the paper too. Canonbury LTN and St Peter's LTN have been mixed up and it's unclear whether or not this gets corrected at any point in the paper. It's clearly not been properly reviewed.
Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation @audreydenazelle Imperial College London @sustainable_urb Danny Yee Cyclox Oxfordshire Liveable Streets Coalition for Healthy Streets and Active Travel @Urban_Turbo This NO2 counter should not be listed as a boundary counter and used in those calculations. It is on a quiet side street which was put into the centre of an LTN in 2020 so should not be listed as a boundary road. It's skewing the boundary road figures.
Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation @audreydenazelle Imperial College London @sustainable_urb Danny Yee Cyclox Oxfordshire Liveable Streets Coalition for Healthy Streets and Active Travel @Urban_Turbo The red line here is the Essex Rd (A104). A major bus route and now LTN boundary route. No NO2 figures were provided to so it has not been included in boundary road figures in the calculations which is a notable omission to the overall picture.
@neilofharringay Liverpool Road Clean Air 💙 They are literally ordinary residents who have never been involved in politics or any formal groups. Mixed political beliefs, backgrounds, races and economic backgrounds. All with one common goal, to be listened to by corrupt councils and lobby groups.
Hardly any of these cars will count on the data strips S traveling under 10kmph …. They will show this road as empty… Haringey Council
This is a probably the most stupid tweet of the year from Hackney Council - and there have been many candidates. Stokey Church Street is closed to cars between 7am and 7pm. How could ANYONE think that bikes would NOT outnumber cars? Yet this is not made clear. #streetsforall
Jonathan Winn Liverpool Road Clean Air 💙 Councils have a new type of consultation: - It doesn’t inform or consult. - Decisions are stitched up before the public hears any options. - People who disagree with the method and find fault and/ know the area well are publicly denounced. We live in LTN times.
Andrew Gilligan, former cycling commissioner for London and transport adviser to Boris Johnson (who funded LTNs), writes a blog saying "Ignore false claims and bad journalism" but then falsely claims "most LTNs do reduce traffic"🤣😂😂🤣 theguardian.com/environment/bi… Andrew Ellson
Little Ninja UK London borough of "Completely Unsurprising" Andrew Ellson Perdeep Save Our Buses55 (SOB) Clean Air For All Dulwich that kids mum 🇯🇲 The UK LTN Résistance Ediz Margaret Brady Robbie PedallingTheTruth Highbury Fields LTN saw increases in NO2 by up to 46% on boundary roads. I wouldn't agree with his "thoroughly debunked" claim. ULEZ expansion pushing people to ditch perfectly serviceable diesel cars and a move to EV cars has helped with pollution in London. LTNs though???
Will Norman Imperial College London Islington Council By selecting the LTNs where NO2 fell or didn't change, whilst ignoring the two Highbury LTNs were NO2 went up significantly (up to 35% worse and 42% worse) on boundary roads. #CherryPickedData
Dr. Rosamund Adoo-KD CBE FBSA I need to write this up and send a letter to the journal. First, the study uses data from Islington Council which was subsequently revoked. Secondly, they cherry picked LTNs. Thirdly the categorisation of sites as boundary or external is arbitrary. Sites were poorly chosen!
Cycled to Liverpool St to do this year’s Sculpture in the City walk. Went through London Fields LTN. I was shocked that on such a beautiful day there were no children playing out on the roads and only 1 other cyclist. DeBeauvoir the same. Could this all be a con? Hackney Together
