Ipsos Mori have since confirmed that they only surveyed residents fully-within the LTNs.

So they left out the majority of residents impacted, including those travelling along boundary roads at peak, those *living on* boundaries, and those *inside* LTNs impacted by displacement.

There’s nothing neighbourly about Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. Displacing traffic onto other roads is like me tidying out my house, slinging all my rubbish over the garden fence and then patting myself on the back for how clean my house is. are the politics of division.

Hard to believe the UK covid emergency response was to divert traffic from quiet side roads into highly polluted areas where people were already at greatest risk.
Even now, councils are still imposing traffic relocation schemes and calling it climate action.

Why do you think so many ppl have started showing videos of traffic in Streatham recently?

Yes, traffic is nothing new anywhere in London.

It’s just that some roads are now more congested and polluted than ever before.

As a clear result of LTNs.

That’s why.

Great work by News from Crystal Palace analysing the latest LTN work by Rachel Aldred. Based on the earlier Possible report, she has been forced to add academic rigour to it. The result is she admits much of which LTN opponents have been saying for yrs. newsfromcrystalpalace.wordpress.com/2023/11/21/blo…

Absolutely shameful what’s happening. I made it clear to all parties in Ella’s inquest when they introduced these ridiculous schemes what would happen. Today London is gridlocked, asthma is on the rise after no child died during lockdown. Creating private rds for votes; horrific.

No more lung apartheid by implementing LTNs that hurt red route communities. It’s classism & racism. We want to breathe air just like you. You think you’re a Clean Air Campaigner, you think you fight for us but its the working class & minorities paying with their health not you.

The Fox ◼ LTNs exacerbate class divisions by creating a sort of social apartheid, whereby affluent communities become no-go areas. They create tension and conflict between neighbours, push traffic unto arterial roads, increase journey times, and cause more pollution.

Nathalie Bienfait For many the traffic chaos never went away. LTNs simply pushed it somewhere else onto someone else. LTNs create winners and losers. That’s why they’re so divisive. Lutfur understands this and should be applauded for his attempts to ensure the whole community benefits.

amelia gentleman Also surprised that you didn't mention Rosamund's strong objection to Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, which she believes is worsening pollution on busy roads that already endure the worst pollution.

Will Norman Rowena Champion Islington Council So high-car ownership Offord Road with its multi-million pound Georgian terraces has its road blocked to through traffic while Mackenzie Road, which is predominately social housing, gets sacrificed to be busy through route. London Labour, we see you!

Islington has begun consultation on a Mildmay LTN. Below, the main picture they use. Why not a picture of a boundary road, like busy Balls Pond Road, that will get extra traffic. Is it too much too ask for an honest account of the impact of the proposals? islington.media/news/your-chan…

By ignoring the main roads, which in urban settings are usually highly residential, you hope to get away with your counterproductive ideology.

You won’t, Jon.

Not quite though.

Anyone paying £12.50 for entering the ULEZ has bought themselves the right to pollute.

Bit like paying for the right to pee & poo in a swimming pool.

Lundun Feeldz Jon Burke 🌍 Interesting.

You would have thought someone who claims to having personally pedestrianised Bdwy Mkt is aware of the facts.

And on consultations, Hackney considers theirs purely as a formality.

City Hall Greens Mayor of London Sian Berry Disappointing that London Greens have become cheerleaders for these unfair schemes. It’s obvious even this Mayor is uncomfortable about making the case for LTNs. He’s increasingly aware of how unpopular they are & the harmful consequences, such as displacement, they create.
