Second season starts tomorrow

Horns extend their season and are bi-district champs for the third straight year. Great team effort and performance tonight picking up the 56-25 win over Van Vleck. Jase Hightower led the way with 16, Calvin Ellington with 13 and Cory Armstrong chipped in 10. Great team win!!

Horns season comes to an end against a very good Central Heights Blue Devil Basketball team. Great season and a great group of seniors finished off a great career. Final was 61-43 Cory Armstrong led us with 14 followed by Jase Hightower and Hunter Keith with 12.

78 practices, 37 games, many great memories. Thanks to the 22-23 Tarkington Longhorns for a lot of great memories. 4 straight playoff appearances, 3 straight bi district championships.

Congratulations To senior PG Hunter Keith on being named 23-3A first team all district. Had a great senior year also receiving all tournament honors at Huntington’s tournament in December. Great close to a great career.

Sr G/F Cory Armstrong also received first team all district honors to add to his Newcomer of the Year award from last season. Cory finished his decorated career also earning All-Tournament team at the LCM Basketball Invitational.

Senior guard Jase Hightower was the third Longhorn to earn first team all district honors. Jase had a great senior year which included a career high 26 points against Bridge City and All-Tournament team at the Evadale tournament.

Sophomore G/F Junior Maalaelu adds to the hardware he collected in football season where he was a first team all-district safety. Junior was voted second team all -district in an outstanding sophomore campaign where he led us in blocks and rebounds and was third in assist.

Please stop wearing pajamas pants and crocs to on campus visits official or unofficial ….pajama pants and crocs…get that out of the rotation when you’re going on any campus please…
