Every new level of growth we experience as leaders calls for a new level of change. If you want to become a better leader, get comfortable with change!

When I am asked my number one piece of advice for an administrator, it is simply to take care of your staff. A culture of care, support, appreciation, and encouragement is a culture when everyone can thrive. The teacher's work environment is the student's learning environment.

There are a lot of people bringing big care and big effort into our schools every day.

Let’s celebrate them when we see them tomorrow.

“No legislature or member of it designed the standards to connect students to the outside world. We’ve got to create connection in our classrooms. We’ve got to abandon archaic practices. So how will you build connection and engaging experiences for your students?”

#TXed needs an increase of $900 per student to keep up with inflation, but #HB100 proposes an insulting $50 in exchange for vouchers that will take money away from public schools. No more gimmicks–no vouchers. It's time to fully fund our schools. #Txlege

The only way we raised teacher pay is by cutting everywhere else in our budget. And it is still not enough to keep up with the cost of living. The most important thing we do to improve the learning experience for kids is give them a high quality teacher. Time to pay them.
