A2 I am a big believer in digging below the surface. Relationships will give you the information to engage and support all learners. We need to understand the whole child, not just the surface.

A2: Students deserve that their educators have time to reflect on the status of the class, design a plan, and prepare for that plan, all with intentionality.

A3: Make lessons engaging again. While technology is a huge part of education, that doesn’t mean stick your class on a program to teach themselves.

A2: Students learn when they are engaged. Students are engaged when their needs are met. The continuous process of assessing and meeting student needs should always be the norm.

A3: The rigidity of time constraints detracts from purposeful and intentional planning and boxes us in. We can move objects around inside a box (of time) to reallocate space, but if the box never expands, our capacity won’t truly expand.

a3. The staff in public school demographically needs to reflect the Ss they serve. Remediation of skills should be applied everywhere , if it doesn’t remediate, enrich or intervene then it does not serve Ss, going forth

A2: Truancy needs to improve! Parents need to be held accountable and get their children to school. We cannot expect students to be the parents.

A3: In addition, NJ needs to figure out its “funding formula” and TRULY fund public education. Increasing teacher compensation and working conditions will help attract & retain high quality teachers

A3 As we wait for the system to change (which will be slooooow), I think Ts need to rebel a little, focusing on less content & more competencies, less memorization & more deeper thinking, less sage on the stage & more guide on the side.

A1 change is always necessary, as educators we need to change with the time. Our students interests change, technology changes, we need to embrace it and stay with the times.

A3: As educators we must keep learning ourselves! We need to be aware of the skills needed for the next generation and incorporate them into our instruction as a model. AI is a great example of this!

A2: I think we need to look hard at what the research is telling us about student learning happens. In the last 25 years we’ve adopted ideas like discovery learning and inquiry but student scores have not increased but declined. Inquiry might sound nice but may not work

A2: Let's prioritize the 'career' in Career and College Readiness! In the comments I’ll drop an inspiring example from CRHS, where I proudly serve on the board. It's just the start of how this school keeps students driven for their futures!
