Courts - whether domestic or supranational - do not exist to do the government’s bidding.

A lot of people are failing to grasp this very basic feature of democracy.

Those of us fortunate to be born in a country not ravaged by war and persecution owe it to those less fortunate to offer a better life where possible. We need to evolve the current rhetoric and recognise we are all one and collaboration is the key to our survival on this planet.

Our fundamental right to trial by jury is under serious and imminent threat. ALL self employed barristers (not just CBA members): please, please take three mins to complete this survey so we can let the govt know what you think of their plans.

I worry that this seismic change to our constitution is not being given the attention it urgently warrants. So I'll say again:

The government wants to abolish jury trials in order to address a court backlog caused by its own cuts, under the pretence that it was caused by Covid.

Right lads. Who wants to get Rashford signed up to reverse the cuts to the justice system?

I was pretty appalled at the Cummings revelations - what he did was, at best, completely undermining of the public message and effort. I am relatively intelligent and have followed the advice given closely so I know what I am meant to be doing. There is no prospect that I
