A timely urgent question on the crisis in #Sudan which is quickly becoming the world's largest hunger crisis.
Thank you to Lyn Brown 🌹 & Vicky Ford MP for raising important questions around humanitarian access and how the UK can strengthen its engagement to end the violence.
As troubled by the hunger I saw during my Haiti visit, as inspired I was by its rebellious history & strength of Haitians. They need more international support to overcome this complex crisis. World Food Programme 5-star team staying & delivering food, cash & school meals to some 500k ppl/month.
Just returned from a 2-day visit to #London , following the Paris pledging event for #Sudan . I had the opportunity to discuss the dire humanitarian situation & highlight how World Food Programme is tackling the crisis.
Sustained support from our donors in the coming months is crucial!
Brilliant news that World Food Programme's Chef Advocate here in the UK, Asma Khan, has been named in the #TIME100 most influential list for 2024.
Great to see her pioneering, inspiring approach to life and work recognised alongside movie stars and politicians. Go Asma!

Sudan's war risks triggering the world's largest hunger crisis across the region. Humanitarian need is growing, yet conflict makes delivering assistance at scale impossible.
Thank you Vicky Ford MP APPG for Sudan & South Sudan Chair, for keeping attention on this forgotten crisis.
Today World Food Programme Regional Director for East Africa Michael Dunford took part in the APPG for Sudan and South Sudan's 'One Year on: Reflections on the Conflict in Sudan' event alongside passionate voices for peace in the region.
The message is clear, #Sudan can't be forgotten.
Drought, conflict and rising inflation are putting #Ethiopia at risk of slipping into a humanitarian catastrophe.
World Food Programme is grateful to Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP for supporting critical nutrition programmes in Ethiopia.
In Geneva for the #Ethiopia High-Level Pledging Event. With our revamped program World Food Programme has reached over 3 million people hit by acute food insecurity due to conflict & climate change. More funding needed to sustain & scale up aid, and invest in efforts to break the cycle of needs.
