With some 300 million people severely food insecure around the world, World Food Programme stands ready to deliver assistance quickly, strategically and where it is needed most.

As troubled by the hunger I saw during my Haiti visit, as inspired I was by its rebellious history & strength of Haitians. They need more international support to overcome this complex crisis. World Food Programme 5-star team staying & delivering food, cash & school meals to some 500k ppl/month.

In northern Gaza, this is what humanitarian access looks like: fuel, flour & now bread for families who haven’t had it in months.

An important step, but a drop in the bucket. World Food Programme and our partners need accelerated access into & across Gaza to prevent the possibility of famine.

Climate extremes, conflict, and inflation have created a perfect storm of crises in #Ethiopia .

In Geneva for the #Ethiopia High-Level Pledging Event. With our revamped program World Food Programme has reached over 3 million people hit by acute food insecurity due to conflict & climate change. More funding needed to sustain & scale up aid, and invest in efforts to break the cycle of needs.

One year ago, conflict broke out in #Sudan , threatening the stability of an entire region.

Since then, we’ve stayed engaged and continued to support the people of Sudan.

Today, we're stepping up our work with UNICEF & World Food Programme to preserve basic services and community resilience.

Visited UN Humanitarian Response Depot Brindisi together with World Food Programme Executive Board. This WFP-managed platform offers supply chain solutions so UN and humanitarians can deliver in emergencies, from #Gaza to #Sudan . Impressive team! Good example of how we can collaborate in this time of growing crises.

After several trials, World Food Programme & UNOPS delivered fuel to a bakery in #Gaza to start producing bread.

Bakeries have been unable to operate for several months due to conflict and lack of access.

We need safe & sustained access to prevent famine.

New figures covering the direct cost of damage to critical infrastructure in #Gaza released today:

$18.5 billion, as of January.
Close to 100% of GDP of the West Bank and Gaza.

The conditions are extremely hard for the civilian population of Gaza.
