The last time I heard of a โtwin-trackโ strategy re Brexit it was vis Cummings and Frost & their madman approach of threatening โno dealโ while actively pursuing an agreement. Thankfully The Labour Party approach to EU will be smarter - & much more constructive ft.com/content/56f9a2โฆ
Well, Tory MPs were warned. And NB (and Iโm sure John McTernan knows) that REULA 2023 is only the start of it: much post-Brexit legislation in eg agriculture, trade, medicines gives huge powers to Ministers to set policy and rules within a skeletal framework.
It is great to see the briefing John Denham and I drafted, with colleagues from Society of Labour Lawyers's Constitution Group (@GeorgePeretzKC and Stephen HockmanKC), quoted in this very useful and insightful report from Unlock Democracy and Compass by Arianna Giovannini & Jonathan Davies now on Mastodon, Threads and BSky!.
As John Denham says: a very thoughtful discussion by Compass and Unlock Democracy of our proposals for the Take Back Control Bill Society of Labour Lawyers, as well of other proposals in this area. Those interested in ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ devolution should read.
