Barney Dunn Thanks for drawing attention to a really helpful way of thinking about an important aspect of designing psychotherapy outcome studies- not easy to implement but the alternative is confirmation bias and allegiance effects!

Shout out to Ind who gave us permission to include her infographic in our #CATDiff21 materials - rejigging the ending session meant it wasn't shown in the end - but have a look here #BlackHistoryMonth #Antiracism #Generous Dr Nargis Islam

Great annual PIT-UK zoom conference on loss and endings yesterday. Always a central part of therapy and particularly poignant just now. Our new video on loss is very moving and will prove to be a useful teaching aid. Thought provoking presentations and conversation .

Great to see reference to #CognitiveAnalyticTherapy training included in this Psych Therapies for STMP implementation guidance. We & @NHS_HealthEdEng are finalising a national curriculum in preparation for procurement of centrally funded training for core NHS mental health staff

Fantastic seminar with Prof Else Guthrie in our first face to face seminar for over two years! We are revisiting how to re-live experience here and now using Bob Hobson’s session on thunder phobia.

This is a nuanced and careful study that asks some important questions about what it means to ask about “patient preference” in therapy- well worth reading- especially if you are unwise enough to think you already know the answer!

For the first time, we've shown that relational depth in a close relationship (outside of therapy) predicts personal wellbeing. That is, the more moments of in-depth connection, the better we feel. More evidence that relationships are key to wellbeing journals.sagepub.com/doi/epub/10.11…
