‼️ Lords vote to protect migrant victims from immigration enforcement
Risk of detention and removal from the UK stops migrant victims seeking safety, trapping them in abuse
MPs must do the right thing & accept this amendment to the #VictimsBill

📢 My analysis today shows nearly 18,000 domestic abuse crimes are missing from police statistics - after police were instructed to count fewer crimes.
Administrative ease must never come before accurate recording of domestic abuse.

An important change was announced today by Ministry of Justice - victims' counselling notes will now be better protected during criminal investigations.
Thanks to EVAW Coalition Rights of Women @rapecrisiseandw and Gabby Bertin for your tireless work to make this a reality.
NEW: Ministry of Justice to introduce new legal protections for victims' counselling notes.
This is a victory for campaigners and I welcome this long-fought for change to protect victims' privacy.

Thank you BBC Woman's Hour for having me on. And thank you to the formidable Rape Crisis England & Wales Centre for Women's Justice EVAW Coalition Rights of Women for their year long campaign to keep rape counselling notes confidential. We did it 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Credit also to Ministry of Justice and Alex Chalk KC MP
Great hearing Gabby Bertin on BBC Woman's Hour talking about our #KeepCounsellingConfidential campaign win!
We hope this much-needed change in law will better protect survivors' counselling notes, raising the legal threshold for when survivors’ notes can be requested by the police.
🚨 CAMPAIGN WIN 🚨
After years of campaigning with our sisters Rape Crisis England & Wales, Centre for Women's Justice and Rights of Women, we're thrilled that the government is changing the law to help #KeepCounsellingConfidential and better protect rape survivors' right to privacy! 🧵
