Congratulations to the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line for achieving certification to the Helplines Standard for the first time.
It was evident that Rape Crisis England & Wales and their partners work collaboratively to provide a high-quality service.
NEW: Ministry of Justice to introduce new legal protections for victims' counselling notes.
This is a victory for campaigners and I welcome this long-fought for change to protect victims' privacy.

We hope this much-needed change in law will better protect survivors' counselling notes, raising the legal threshold for when survivors’ notes can be requested by the police.
After years of campaigning with our sisters EVAW Coalition, Rights of Women and Centre for Women's Justice, we are thrilled that the Government is changing the law to help #KeepCounsellingConfidential and better protect survivors' right to privacy.

Often, counselling notes obtained by the police are being used against survivors – either to undermine them in court or as a reason for police officers to take 'no further action' and stop pursuing the case.
