Last year, I launched the Derbyshire Partnership Against Rural Crime group to bring partners together to tackle rural crime.
The Partnership has set out our action plan which will drive forward improvements that will benefit rural communities.

In Derby meeting with officers from one of our Acquisitive Crime Teams to hear about the targeted work they are doing. The team was set last year and their work has contributed to an overall drop in home burglaries by 31% across Derbyshire and Derby City.

Meeting with the Chief Executive of Crimestoppers Mark Hallas. It was good to hear the positive work that has been carried out through Crimestoppers in Derbyshire including the seizure of £10,000 worth of cannabis and the arrest of a drug dealers.
In Matlock to lead on the latest meeting of the Derbyshire Partnership Against Rural Crime (DPARC). It was a good opportunity to set out our action plan on how we will all work together to reduce rural crime across the county.

Since I have been elected, we have increased the size of Rural Crime Team and I have funded extra training for all local police officers. Our tough approach to rural crime is working with home burglaries down in rural areas by 17%. #RuralCrime
