Well done to Miss Smith’s Year9s for demonstrating some excellent practical skills this week.

It’s been a busy week in the kitchen. My Year7s have been making a Vegetarian Chilli, as last week they were learning about vegetarianism. Year8s were making either Fajitas, Tacos or Quesadillas for their Mexican task.

Followed by my Year9s who made mini Croissants for National Croissant Day. Year10s have been learning about Coeliac Disease in their theory lessons so they made a gluten free dish of their choice and finally my Year11s were completing their trial dishes for their NEA. 🖤

Year9 set the bar high this morning but my Year10s this afternoon didn’t disappoint. I even got to do some ‘taste testing’. Thank you year10. 🥞

On Monday we started off the new term with back to back practicals for my Year7s and Year9s. Excellent effort from my Year7s whilst making their Chicken Tikka Masala and fabulous work from my Year9s who were making no bake lemon cheesecakes. 🍋

We’re only on day two of the new half term but Miss Smith has been cooking up a storm in the kitchen this week with Year7, 9, and 10.

Hodgson Academy were privileged to be given Alaskan Salmon by the FoodTeachersCentre Wild Alaska Seafood & fish.heroes My wonderful Year10 classes became #fishheroes using the salmon to make Sticky Teriyaki Salmon & Rice 💜
