The 2% minimum was agreed to at a time when war in Europe seemed to most as nothing but a distant memory.

We’re in a new situation now, and 2% is just simply no longer sufficient.

Ensuring Ukraine wins is the most important thing we can do for global peace and security.

That’s why we’re increasing our support - backing Ukraine with £500 million for military aid and delivering our largest-ever package of equipment.

The MRSS isn't new, it has been a matter of public record for years. What will be interesting is whether the numbers planned / ordered align to original intention, or if they're reduced, helping make the future RN/RFA smaller than it is now.

🇫🇷 creating a specialist logistics brigade to support divisional level high intensity operations. Rebuilding this kind of capability is exactly what NATO is asking of Allies, in particular larger ones whose Divisions and Corps are the framework in which others fight.
