The Royal Navy sixth Astute Class attack submarine has been formally named.
Agamemnon was named in a traditional ceremony at @BAESystemsMaritime shipyard in Barrow-In-Furness.
The first working submarine was a leather-covered rowboat invented by Cornelis Drebbel in 1620.
Drebbel went on to build two more, with the final one managing to reach depths of 15 feet.
