Its a socketed gauge morning, following on from the Must Farm report i have made 3 of the gauges and a chisel. I have still got my eyes on the flat bladed one, next focus is one the edge hardening to get a crisp edge with an eye to fully functioning living tools

Easter trip to Pictish Perthshire 2
St Serf's Church in Dunning opened up for spring/summer of last weekend, giving me the chance to visit the magnificent Dupplin Cross. This was carved from old red sandstone in the early 8th century.

The Gaulstown Dolmen • Waterford

This Neolithic portal tomb known as the Gaulstown Dolmen likely dates to around 3800–3500 BC.

It is beautifully set in an atmospheric glade at the foot of a hill known as Cnoc na Cailligh.

(Please spare a thought for National Trust Archaeology & English Heritage rock-horologists as they make intricate adjustments necessary for the Leap Year. Here, you see the millimetre precise work being undertaken!)
