Why couldn’t one of the many Scottish Government Ministers make a statement on Cass and the ongoing prescribing of puberty blockers at Sandyford? It is clearly a matter of public interest. The urgent questions would not be necessary if Ministers understood what accountability entails. 😳

Apparently the First Minister used his speech to the STUC to criticise those he claims are spreading misinformation about the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act. Just hours later, the Cabinet Secretary for Justice stands up in Parliament and misstates the legislation.

Interesting in light of the rewriting of history about why sex was not included in the Hate Crime legislation. The working group was established during the bill process as a result of concerns about exclusion of sex, not because women wanted a separate piece of legislation.

The general public deserves to understand in really simple terms whether what they are doing is criminal or not.

Sally asked a police front desk officer and was told he'd need to refer her questions to one of the Hate Crime Champions.

She asks: if the test is what 'a reasonable person' thinks, why does it need referring on, are police officers not reasonable people? It's a good question.

Police Scotland have logged more than 3,000 complaints in 48 hours since the new hate crime law came into force. But no, of course, this law won’t be weaponised by malicious actors. No wonder so many MSPs are avoiding interviews.
