First time in a long time that I’ve lit a fire in my little backyard fire pit. It’s nice except for the bit where I reached for the phone to call my mom and chat with her while I watched the fire. It’s been two years now, and my heart still breaks remembering that she’s gone.

I’ve been reading Steven Brust, pjf’s Vlad Taltos series for over 40 years now, and it remains one of my favorite escapes into the world of fantasy. Just finished Lyorn and, as ever, my only complaint is that I want more! Damn, Vlad is fun.

Gus Walz didn’t cry because he has a disability but because he learned healthy masculinity where it’s OK to be overcome with emotion out of love and pride. If you mocked him, you’re a dick, not for mocking a disabled teen, but for mocking real familial love. #DBAD
