Fact of the Day: Vader’s role in the franchise evolved as the story went on. Originally, Vader was meant to die in A New Hope, and Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were meant to be two different people.

Star Wars books are wild. In the movies, the craziest Force power is protecting a copy of one's self onto another planet. In the new canon books, Anakin uses the Force to Weekend-at-Bernie's a corpse to fool a couple of mercenaries. Don't even get me started on the old EU.
