Absolutely fascinating insight I just heard from a hiring manager: Adding junior engineers makes the senior engineers on his team *better*, because the constant "Why" questions force them to articulate and confront their own assumptions. Hire juniors for a stronger team!

Paul Graham What gets me is everyone cheering wealth taxes think we're going to _finally_ get better healthcare or education. Not a chance. We have plenty of money now. The gov't throws away trillions every year, most of it on bombing strangers and they're just gonna do more of that.

"Well-managed software is quiet. Software that is dramatic, where shipping is a big event, is poorly managed. Well-managed software is boring. Nothing exciting happens in it because the changes are small, well-observed, and frequent. It’s as uneventful and routine as a heartbeat”
