I got to have dinner with Jacinda Ardern at Blavatnik School of Government and it was very special. Thank you for showing us what politics could be, and should be. ♥️
Let me guess that the official response from the Australian government, Anthony Albanese Senator Penny Wong, will be “extreme concern” over the killings, and then proceeding to do absolutely nothing about it. Israel impunity only exists because states like #Australia have allowed it for decades
A major new order: The International Court of Justice orders 'Israel to allow unimpeded access of food aid into Gaza, where significant sections of the population are facing imminent starvation,' rebuking 'Israel’s claim it is not blocking aid deliveries.' theguardian.com/world/2024/mar…
Heartening to finally see a #UNSecurityCouncil Res calling for a #ceasefire . Disheartening to see the US immediately reducing the chances that Israel will comply by calling it non-binding and suggesting it depends on reciprocity.
Int. law is working. Its the US that's broken.
“Evidence given to the Fair Work Commission – which finished its hearings into Lattouf’s case last week – suggests political pressure from pro-Israel lobby groups was a key factor in the ABC’s decision.” #MediaWatch
But why do you apply the international rule of law so selectively Anthony Albanese?
War crimes are war crimes. Genocide is genocide. We want to see you stand as strongly with civilians in Gaza as you do with Ukraine. Everyone deserves freedom, democracy & to be free from fear.
Malnourished, homeless, orphaned: The horrors for Gaza’s children. A nurse does ops on 6 dead pregnant women to save their babies. Rarely, if ever, has any country killed, injured & orphaned as many children as quickly as Israel is right now. My new column abc.net.au/news/2024-02-1…
