A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for portions of Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania for Friday through Monday. Lake Effect Snow will develop on Thursday night and be intermittent across Northwest Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio through early next week.

❄🥶 A quick burst of snow will accompany a cold front this evening, followed by lake effect snow tonight through Saturday. Snowfall totals between 3 and 7 inches are expected in the Advisory area with rates up to 1 inch per hour possible. More details at weather.gov/cle/winter.

Light snow the next few hours will give way to localized lake effect snow bands later tonight. A feeder band from Lake Huron across Lake Erie will contain locally heavy snowfall rates late tonight into Saturday, reducing visibilities & putting down a quick few inches. #ohwx #pawx

Another round of moderate to heavy lake effect snows are expected Friday into the weekend. Lake Effect Snow Warnings have been issued/extended for the primary and secondary snow belt region. The heaviest snows are expected Friday into Friday night along with blowing snow.

Much colder air will accompany lake effect snow showers through Wed. A Lake Effect Snow Warning has been issued for Erie Co. PA with 12-15" possible. Gusty winds will result in subzero overnight wind chill temps tonight through Wed night. Stay tuned for additional updates!

The coldest air mass of the season thus far will arrive Sunday and persist through midweek. Wind chills could be as low as at least -20 to -25 degrees Monday night into Wednesday. This will likely be the coldest weather our area has experienced since Christmas Weekend of 2022.
