Next up is Sarah Ward Sarah Ward presenting at What Works Scotland on Assets Based Community Development. I was lucky to examine Sarah’s thesis and learnt lots about ABCD at the frontline and the challenges of tackling inequalities and mobilising for social change
Now Kirsty Deacon presents key findings from her thesis about ‘young people’s experiences of having a family member in prison’ - insights into often forgotten perspectives that trouble simplistic narratives about prison/punishment/justice What Works Scotland
And finally the groundbreaking work by @Tamara_Mulherin who’s conducted an ethnography of inter-organising in the context of Health and Social Care Integration in Scotland - understanding collaborative practices through materiality and the micro politics of interaction What Works Scotland
The 4 What Works Scotland PhD projects presented Jane Cullingworth Sarah Ward Kirsty Deacon @Tamara_Mulherin are exemplars of the value of #SocialSciences doctoral research: empirically deep, theoretically informed, destabilising what we think we understand.
