What if domestic violence (partner abuse) when children reside in home was considered child abuse? Also…why ISN’T domestic violence considered child abuse?

33 years ago tonight, 14 women went to bed thinking about their finals, future in STEM and the upcoming holiday season. They didn’t know that these dreams threatened a man’s sense of self worth and that they wouldn’t survive to see their goals and aspirations become a reality.

We're so lucky to work with Shelter Movers to ensure Survivors can leave abusive homes safely and free of charge. It's often the first time Survivors feel they've been shown real kindness and realise there are allies out there.

A part of me understands stories on femicide victims that highlight their motherhood. Another part of me bristles because women's lives and deaths are important regardless of whether or not they had children.

'As the Russian invasion of Ukraine unfolded, I was reminded of the behaviour of abusive ex-husbands and boyfriends. At first he thinks that he can simply bully her into returning. When it turns out she has no desire to return, he shifts to vengeance.' theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

No one chooses an abusive partner. They choose someone who is pretending to be a good match for them and doesn’t show their true colors until they have someone trapped.
