The door’s being pulled open and he’s just heading over to the horses nearby, hanging the backpack by the handle on the side before he’s finally mounted one. “Why’s that? It’s not my fault you didn’t think things through back there.”

Maybe after he’s figured out how to function for the day. Shouldn’t take long.

“𝘈𝘭𝘴𝘰? So you’re admitting that you stink, then?” Lightly snickering, he’s finally having his arms wrapped around her now, pulling her closer to him. “Better?”

Showing up after a couple of minutes with a bottle of whiskey in hand, idly raising it up as he approached her. “Well. . . As promised.”

Of all the places. . . He could get out of there, if he wants. It’s not like he’s going to find anything valuable there, anyway.
