Willow gives her a sympathetic smile. “Just not a good day, huh? How about we rent some movies, pop some popcorn, and ignore the world for a while?”

“I’ll never get tired of hearing it… you can say it as many times as you like.” She grins right back, then offers her arm playfully. “Comedies? Laughter is the best medicine.”

She faltered for a moment, then tried to hide her surprised grin. That was cute. It reminded her of herself as a teenager. And Xander now. “Nope, no evil here. Completely evil-free. What about you?”

She recognized the look on her face. She didn’t want to push herself on this new person, but she knew very well how dangerous this town was for someone walking alone. “Let me walk you home? There’s safety in numbers.” And magic, but she couldn’t exactly add that out loud.

Willow grinned and shoved her hands into her pockets. “Lead the way!” She couldn’t remember if she had introduced herself or not. It only occurred to her after they’d started walking. “I’m Willow, by the way.”
