I love animation, but over time, I also learned to avoid making that my only identity, or a huge part of my identity. It is easy for young passionate animators who break in early and form a solid reputation fall into this trap.

Animation is a medium that requires so many different skillsets more so than drawing and motion, and its also an industry with huge issues. It births problematic people, ignorant people, and it makes it very easy to get black pilled. Happened to me 100%.

So I urge every passionate animator to have another passion that also includes a community outside of your main practice. It gives you perspective on what is important in life, and a nice break from echo chambers that feeds onto insecurities and delusions
