Sometimes she understands why people don't want to approach her. Her mask can be somewhat off putting.

She would tell him about her quirk whether or not they were close friends. She is more afraid of losing control of it again. Although having a friend at the school would be pleasant. Perhaps and maybe she won't feel the need to wear her mask around him.
