Y12 and Y13 Life Skills Day! The students had a great day learning practical skills like cooking, car maintenance, budgeting as well as getting advice around consent, addiction and wellbeing.

Finished my Y11 lesson today with Carmel Bones's "P" word idea for the Elizabethan England unit. Gave students three minutes and had some amazing responses (I was mocked because I didn't have 'papal bull' on my list...!). Super simple active revision and great discussions after.

Commonly face student questioning/misconceptions on the Political Spectrum across KS4/5. This infographic hopefully falls between comprehensive yet digestible, providing a definition for core ideologies whilst placing the parties on the spectrum for reference. #historyteacher

Every year 11 student has left today’s lesson with a very meta folding frenzy. It’s my recommendation for “Active Revision.” Audit>Understand>Memorise>Organise>Apply… repeat!

Getting Year 11 to analyse the examiner's report when reflecting on their exam practise. they have to think about how convincing the comments are about their answer and then state how they will change their exam technique. It has had a mixed reception. All feedback welcome!

What a fab bunch of volunteers! Thanks to MOD DE&S for running our Year 12 Mock interview day. Students came to school suited and booted and ready to impress. The feedback from the employers has been great and it’s another piece of the students careers journey completed. 👏
