A dry evening after a day of rain. Atmospheric walk #TeifiMarshes In the low evening light at least 140 House Martins, 100 Sand Martins and 50 Swallows were feeding low over the Water Buffalo. The sun was setting over Cardigan as a Great Crested Grebe floated into view.
We're committed to improving access and have introduced accessible boat trips round Skomer and Skokholm Island this season - designed for disabled people and carers/companions, these trips are totally FREE. To book, please call 07534 451871.

Look who's back! Despite the bright moon, one of the Storm Petrels from Petrel Station box 11 returned at 00:10hrs and remained until close to dawn. Image courtesy of Chris Payne
A Squacco Heron just flew from the Well to South Pond. The first for Skokholm and a cracking find by Emmanuel Jatta 🇬🇲, ably assisted by Richard Dobbins (they promise they didn't bring it over from Gambia).
The clouds nearly cleared enough at Mwnt to see #SolarEclipse2024 . Worth the effort though as the wind had dropped and it was a pleasant evening for a walk anyway. Bonus was watching a Chough displaying and a Wheatear.
We currently have the privilege of hosting Emmanuel Jatta 🇬🇲 from the brilliant Kartong Bird Observatory 🇬🇲 for a few weeks of training and exchanging ideas. Today was helping Ian Beggs with his Wheatear work, although the female Stonechat and Rock Pipits made up the non-heligoland catch
Willow Warblers on the Teifi Marshes WelshWildlifeCentre this morning, our previous earliest ringed 8th April..
