I gave up a career as a full-time paid freelance writer to take up a 9-5 so I could go back to writing authentically & creatively. #AmWriting #WritingCommunity

Don't feel insignificant just because of the relative size of the Universe. That size is of no use to you and your meaning. Your worth is relative to the finite size of your actionable world. You have real worth in the context of that world. Everything outside that world is null.

Back to the doc one week from today for fresh x-rays of my leg. I’ve been on crutches for 2 1/2 months and it looks like I may still be on them when I start my new job in 2 weeks.

Officially changing my driver’s license Wednesday and am prepping for a new work badge photo, which translates to a new hairdo and justified cosmetic purchases.

When you want to put on jammies, brush your teeth, and cozy up in bed with a good t.v. show, but you’re not done eating snacky snacks and will probably have to get up to pee in 30 minutes anyway.

I’ve been MIA. Slipped in a restaurant bathroom with a freshly waxed floor. My crutches went out from under me and I landed on my bad leg, twisting it at the knee. Doc today at 1. New job starts a week from today. Have done no writing at all.

Doc said knee is sprained, but not serious. Leg fractures are healing well. Will still be on crutches for a few weeks to a few months. There’s a bruise on my shin that darkens when I try to walk. When it fades and doesn’t darken again, I can ditch crutches. All good news!

Last freelance gig this week, then I start my new 9-5 job Monday, with a few writing jobs on weekends. 7 weeks of on-site training, then I can work from home. I’m hoping that I’ll break my old manuscripts out this spring and start writing creatively again when I get my new place.

Bought myself a few trinkets for my new life: a moonstone ring for my left hand because I’m married to myself now, a black tourmaline bracelet, clear quartz crystal necklace, and a teeny tiny pair of diamond earrings. I also picked up sandalwood oil to wear in place of perfume.

I’m having such a good time at life right now. In spite of my recent divorce and injuries, life is blissful. I start my new job Monday morning and I feel like a pre-teen getting ready for my first day of school! Evolving is so much fun! Weeeeee!

I just had a former client ask if I could write 25 articles for him. I had to say no; I'm already booked. I wouldn't mind writing one each night after work, but my next two weekends are already booked with other clients. What a strange problem to have! #AmWriting

Being a writer means confidently saying that your writing is going well, while fully knowing that you haven't written anything in over a month.

Well, it’s here! Today is my first day at my new job! I’ll still freelance on the weekends, but today starts a new career with benefits, insurance, and a 401k. I’m so ready!

It was a challenging first day on the job, but a great day nonetheless. The crutches really complicated things. So did working on a PC when I’ve had a Mac for 10 years! I’m proud of myself for re-entering the work force after being self employed for so long.
