“Someone with a 1-hr car commute needs to earn 40% more to be as happy as someone with a short walk to work. On the other hand, if someone shifts from a long commute to a walk, their happiness increases as much as if they’d fallen in love.” #CityMakingMath

THANK YOU, A.R.C. Volunteers, and all riders for helping our #bikeMississauga 🚲 community honour a young woman on a bike, cut down by a hit-run driver (now arrested). May her death not be in vain, but highlight the grievous need for protected cycling infra in Malton. R I P 🕯💔
Queens Quay used to have 4 lanes for cars, narrow sidewalks.
Thanks to @IamDavidMiller & superb Waterfront Toronto now kilometres w just 2 car lanes and huge promenade to walk, bike, chat, shop… enjoy presence of each other.

Pearl Street Triangle Plaza appreciation 🧵 In 2007 I was living in Miami and this image totally rocked my world. A rapid but simple transformation made with low-cost and flexible materials. 🤔 I wanted to live in Janette Sadik-Khan’s New York City.
