Unfortunately that's not the case nationwide.

Surely it's time to finally roll this out nationwide?

Roberta Horgan 🇮🇪 HSE Ireland My husband has stage 4 and medical card was withdrawn in January. Trying to fight it at the moment but it takes a LOT of patience and paperwork.

The financial cost of cancer is HUGE. People don’t talk about it.
I didn’t have a medical card for most of my treatment and I was off work for almost 3 years.
Last count I spent over €24,000 in medical expenses….
(Hence why I live in my parent’s attic!)

What concerns me most about Robertas tweet, is the need to go public in the first instance.

The financial implications of a #cancer diagnosis are immense & there's a duty of care to ease that burden wherever possible.

I'll be raising this with HSE Ireland management next week.

So..... had an 1130 appointment this morning at UL Hospitals, was seen straight away & am now on my way home 😊

Have to compliment the efficiency of the service I recieved in Limerick today. It gets a lot of bad press, but good things happen here too!
