Cool pics from Bryan Leshinskie on the VITP / War at Sea facebook group of VITP's "older sister" game and the custom miniatures set he's created for it to play at Cold Wars and at Historicon.

Couple of weeks ago I posted how the VITP map has to warp from reality b/c the area is so large & Earth is round. Turns out a 2D image doesn't show the full extent of that effect, b/c it allows one to fit more detail around the edges. Used a globe instead. Now it really shows!

Yokosuka Naval Yard flipping at the end of the optional "Turn 9" ... there's a reason it's not the most common variant, although getting to play with a couple of unique ships (Alaska & Shinano) is nice.

The port/starboard island concept is illustrated pretty well here. Not sure it gave much benefit, but there probably wasn't much downside either.

One of several RN (and French) ships that could have shown up on Turn 8 or Turn 9 in VITP but left out for play balance since most of their action was offboard until the non-existent Turn 10.
