A brilliant idea by Tyler Cowen. Funding made simple for risky out-of-the-box ideas. Too many funders have been captured by insiders and Tyler is giving the outsiders a shot. A bold public bet on his own judgment. mercatus.org/emergentventur…

Thanks to the Times for covering our paper on papal visits and abortions in Italy. And a big shout out to my co-author Egidio who did much of the heavy lifting in the data vaults in Italy! @eggiflour

It is hard enough to be an entrepreneur in India. New documentary burdens pop up all the time. I wonder if these hidden costs of doing business are take into account in the next Doing Business report.

As Varshney says, the Delhi riots have many features of a pogrom. Every effort must be made, within India and overseas, to pressure the regime to prevent a scaling up of the Delhi riots.

I agree with Pushpinder. He is on the ground in Delhi, and also runs a small enterprise. The strict lockdown was a correct decision in March and early April after observing the horrific events in Italy. But we should now re-evaluate.

Our working paper on wine pricing in restaurants is finally out. The second cheapest bottle on the menu is not bad value for money, contrary to the myth. If you can afford it, the high end wines are “good” value. I avoid the mid range wines.

Studying in a particular school does not make one a Sanghi. Anybody will praise the school they have studied in. There is nothing that the Gen says here which is controversial. Pls stop searching for wrongs when there isn’t any. That is what turns off people from wokeism.
