When ICE rips children from their parents, they are causing irreparable harm to their brains. Childhood trauma and PTSD are very serious. They cause permanent changes in the brains of kids who are still developing. I know all about it: our youngest daughter lives with PTSD.

This isn’t the first time in U.S. history that state sanctioned bigotry & racism have ripped families apart. We’ve witnessed the generational pain. We must advocate & work for the end of policies and implemented ideologies that dehumanize & destroy people. #WhereAreOurChildren

People are gonna have diverse scriptural interpretations, so a plurality of theologies are inevitable. I believe some theologies are harmful but difference itself isn't a problem. Denying we're all INTERPRETERS of scripture is problematic & shuts down dialogue across difference.

If you think authoritarianism cannot happen here in America, I lived through a time when it already did: to 120,000 Japanese Americans, most of us citizens. It starts by dehumanizing a group, then spreads through fear, ignorance and hate. Recognize the patterns. Remember history.

I, too, sing America... Tomorrow, I'll be at the table When company comes. Nobody'll dare Say to me, "Eat in the kitchen," Then. Besides, They'll see how beautiful I am And be ashamed— I, too, am America. ~Langston Hughes

I, too, sing America...

Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.

Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed—

I, too, am America.

whether you’re a parent, an educator, or a pastor, the harder & more important work will always be to teach someone how to think vs teaching them what to think

White Jesus is an anti-Christ who has prowled the earth for centuries seeking whom he can kill, steal, & destroy. He is the savior of the status quo, of empires, & of crucifying practices. Don't bow down. Instead, search for the reign of the Crucified One who was resurrected.

Rosa Parks was not protesting the bus. Gandhi was not protesting the food. The colonists were not protesting tea. Players are not protesting the flag or the anthem. They are protesting injustice.
