The National History Day in Maine State Contest was held on April 27 at UMaine. We were able to snag a quick photo during the hectic day of participating staff members from both the MCS Library and Policy Center!

On May 18th, Maine Policy Review hosted an afternoon with Robin Alden, James Wilson, Bill Zoellick, and Robert Shetterly, to celebrate MPR’s special issue Our Shared Ocean at Blue Hill Public Library.

Research Assistants Alexis Johnson, Andrew Fournier, and Susan Kinney, with Research Associate Jamie Wren, recently traveled to the National Violent Death Reporting System’s reverse site visit in Atlanta. Maine’s violent death reporting system won two awards from the federal CDC.

Dr. Dominic Piacentini recently traveled to Minneapolis to attend the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program and Overdose Fatality Review Workgroup. Piacentini participated on behalf of the Maine Accidental Overdose Review Panel, which the MCSPC provides staffing for.

MCSPC Maine Government Summer Intern Oscar Herrera recently started his internship with the Planning, and Economic and Community Development Department for the town of Lisbon. A student at Brown University in Brunswick, Herrera is an Economics/Urban Studies major. #MGSIP24
