Compromise is a wonderful settler. Many pensioners do not need the fuel allowance. Many do. The outcry is the bar is too low. Just adjust the mechanism. Be seen to listen to public opinon, be reasonable and modify the equation. Win all round! Rachel Reeves Keir Starmer
