A really great week going through the St John Ambulance England operational ambulance driving course, 4x4 ambulance course and A2 driver educator course ready for Q4 roll out. A useful week of CPD and course development 😎 St John Ambulance’s Operations Team
It’s been a really busy but rewarding day at RAF Honington flying cadets on their annual camp. 1OS (Akrotiri) Sqn ATC 🇨🇾 you were amazing! 😄 RAF Air Cadets 611 Volunteer Gliding Squadron
Late to the game, but used the new tread-depth keyring yesterday when doing a VDI. This is the kind of simple ergonomic change that makes a big difference to road safety. No need for crews to hunt for a gauge or (worse) guesstimate how much tread is left! Thanks Tom Willis & team!
This evening I delivered the third training session to our first cohort of driving investigators, discussing investigation strategy, setting up an investigation & questioning technique A really engaged & enthusiastic cohort of St John Ambulance England people, eager to drive change
A day away from St John Ambulance England today, visiting 2FTS National Air & Space Camp at RAF Syerston. The RAF Air Cadets allowed me to achieve my PPL in my teens, so it only felt right brining an aircraft to form part of the static display. Great also to talk to cadets about all things 611 Volunteer Gliding Squadron
I wrote an article about how St John Ambulance England is learning from driving investigations and changing the way we view incidents —> check it out! emergencyservicestimes.com/2024/08/30/st-…
And after 7 weekends driving & 150 hrs of training, we’ve passed our L3CERAD blue light driving assessments! 🥳 Over the last 2 months we’ve driven everywhere from Scarborough to Aberystwyth on some great drives, but glad to now have next weekend off 🚑🌟 St John Ambulance England
If you haven’t heard, Tom Wright has become the RAL for London! A very down to earth and engaging person, who has a real focus on volunteer experience. Really pleased to see this!
Really positive call with volunteers from London tonight, talking about opportunities to become a driver educator in St John Ambulance England Looking forward to a new era of driver education in St John 💪🏻💪🏻
A great call with St John Ambulance England incident review group this afternoon, sharing findings from trend analysis of driving incidents over the last 12 months. Good to see such keen interest from leaders across the charity with lessons learnt being applied elsewhere in the charity
