Delighted to report that 611 VGS, at RAF Honington, have just safely launched their first Air Cadet skywards, on this amazing spring morning. Thanks to Fg Off McClymont, and the other Sqn CFAVs and Flight Staff Cadets for so generously giving up their weekends to fly RAF Air Cadets

Great to spend some time with 646 VGS at RAF Topcliffe. Despite having to dodge the showers, they managed to ensure that 11 Air Cadets were safely launched skywards, and some required Staff Continuation Training was achieved. Many thanks for your efforts.

Had a fantastic visit to see the QAIC North Team, at Inskip, today. A super facility and it was wonderful to see the positive interaction between the QAI students and the staff - many of whom are QAIC graduates! Thank you to all the Volunteers for making the magic happen!

First conventional glider launched at RAF Woodvale for 72 years! Well done to Sqn Ldr Graham Delaney and the team from 632 VGS for getting gliding back off the ground at that location. Looking forward to safely launching some air Cadets skywards from there in due course.

Sincere congratulations to all those recognised in the New Year's Honours' List, but especially Wg Cdr Graham Bingham and Sqn Ldr Dan Lewis for their Air & Space Commander's Commendations. Well done!

It was great to pop in and see the team at HQ ⁦Comdt 2 FTS⁩ yesterday - despite the weather they manage to get airborne. More impressively they are in reach to fly over 5000 RAF Air Cadets this financial year - thank you 🙏

Enjoyed a number of interesting presentations today, on Human Performance; Survive the Drive; Health & Safety at Work; and the Nottingham Police Drones' Unit, held during the 2 FTS Safety Day, at RAF Syerston. Huge thanks to all the presenters and to the ASMT for organising it.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Honourable Company of Air Pilots' Trophies and Awards' Banquet, at the Guildhall, in the City of London. Many congratulations to CGS Instructor Training Flight for winning the CFS Trophy, and to Wg Cdr Marland Green OBE for gaining the Livery.

Had a wonderful visit to 611 VGS at RAF Honington today. Great to see the progress they are making in their Return to Flying. Huge thanks to the OC, Tony, and his team of dedicated Volunteers, as well as the CGS staff supporting each weekend they operate. I love 611!

I had a very productive and enjoyable visit to 644 VGS, RAF Syerston, yesterday. It was good to meet the RAF Air Cadets enjoying their GIFs, and the FSCs undertaking their Gliding Scholarships. Many thanks to OC 644, the rest of his team, and the CFAVs who support this activity.

My sincere thanks to Wg Cdr Mark Brayford and his team of dedicated Volunteers, including the QAIC - RAFAC Air Cadet QAIs, who pull together to ensure the best aviation, aerospace, space and cyber experiences possible for our RAF Air Cadets at the 2FTS National Air & Space Camp. First day of the 2023 2FTS National Air & Space Camp, at RAF Syerston, today. Hopefully, the weather will allow lots of gliding this week. Fingers crossed for a Chinook too! As well as getting our RAF Air Cadets safely airborne, there will be plenty of superb air, space and cyber activities going on.
