The outline of the new 15 green Wascana Country Club is defined by the pea gravel layer installed today. Team installed herringbone drainage, exit drains and pea gravel over last two days. Rootzone installation begins tomorrow morning. Chad Fawcett

A little Saskatchewan Gumbo on the tires means it was a quiet day on site as we could not shape or move materials. Mike stayed behind and excavated irrigation trench to move us forward. Yesterday team got rootzone installed on #15 and started on gravel layer on #14 Wascana Country Club

Prairies to the Pacific. A road trip from Wascana to Capilano this weekend. Four refills, nearly 2000 km and 23 hours in the truck. Be great to see the Vancouver team and help them push three projects over the goal line.

Getting closer to finishing Capilano Greens. Slope has now been sodded with fescue, new putting green and surrounds set for sod later this week and a thumbs up as irrigation is substantially complete with the last thrust block poured on Friday. The onto finishing tees.

A look back at the work for Capilano Greens this week. Often get asked what we are doing so here is the first attempt at some commentary. Let me know your thoughts. Two more major elements to go and team is done for this season.

A quick change in the weather means our Okanagan team is on hold.

Great week EdmontonCountryClub. 12” drainage mainline completed at #8 green and #7 tee and began installing drainline in front of #7 green and #8 tee. Getting as much drainage installed as the Club and Goodwin team prepare to renovate all green surfaces next year.

Rain day in the desert means I let my inner nerdiness out and visited some Arizona comic shops. Found 24 books, going back to 1976. Seven first appearances and five news-stand additions. Also means I need to go back to work when snow melts.

Difficult and tough decisions over the last few weeks. Pursuing a new adventure in my career and leaving the team at Goodwin Golf. Leaving a mentor, leader and above all a friend. Charlie - thank you. Cindy and the rest of the team - immense gratitude.

The Green Jacket, the Claret Jug, the Wanamaker Trophy are much sought after golf trophies….in the same realm the Golden Respirator. After 13 days of competition one first year group in Environmental Principles will be awarded the trophy for the first time Olds College of Agriculture & Technology.
